This elegant heart shaped piece symbolises love.  The title refers to the superstition of pulling petals from a flower to determine whether "He loves me, loves me not" and the composition, a series of petal shaped sections emanating from a central point, further enhances the flower metaphor.  The work contains many love symbols including hearts, roses, doves, cupids and cornucopia.
